Tombstone of Anastasia Makarov and Maria and Vladislav Shakhno

Burial site originally marked by a cross on a two-stepped plinth and two-stepped base. Cross not preserved. Second step of base with chamfered upper edges. First step of plinth with moulded upper edges. On the front, chamfered vertical edges and a panel with rounded upper corners, in which a bas-relief inscription (1), engraved rosettes above and an engraved inscription below (2). On the right (3) and left sides (4) the engraved inscription. On the left side an engraved signature. The second step of the plinth tapering upwards, with profiled edges. On the front, an oval space for a photograph, framed by engraved floral motifs and a lily and a six-pointed star with rays. On the left side a panel with a relief inscription (5), on the back an engraved inscription (6).

Additional information:

Inscription below the panel in italics. According to Wacław Wejtka's records, Władysław Szachno was a talented blind pianist. His wife, Maria née Makarowa, was initially a nurse by his side. Time of creation determined hypothetically on the basis of form and dates of life. The tombstone mentioned in: A. Śnieżko, "Rossa - miasto umarłych. Groby zasłużonych", Wrocław 1970 mps in the collection of the Ossolineum Library in Wrocław, pp. 430-432.

photograph not preserved, mosses, lichens, non-maintained finial

Comments on the state of preservation and visible restoration:

The photograph in 2013 was broken and lying on a neighbouring gravestone. It was restored in 2015.
