Grave of a victim of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA)

During the German occupation during the Second World War, particularly between 1943 and 1944, soldiers of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army carried out murders against Poles, including two UPA attacks on the town in July 1943. The victims of these attacks were buried in even places, including the local cemetery.
In the fragment of the cemetery that has survived to the present day, the grave of Kazimierz Kamiński, murdered by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in 1944, has been preserved. At the end of the 1990s a new tombstone was placed on this grave. The inscription reads: "Kazimierz Kaminski / died tragically in 1944".
