Biography:

Jan Ignacy Wodyński (1903-1988), born in Jasło, painter and lecturer. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Wojciech Weiss, as well as in Warsaw, France and Italy. Co-founder of the Pryzmat group. Before 1939, he was Felicjan Kowarski's assistant at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. After the war, he co-organised art schools in Katowice and Toruń, and then taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where he was the rector between 1949 and 1950. From 1961, he worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He created oil paintings, watercolours and interior decorations, e.g. in the Palace of Culture and National Heritage and Długa Street in Gdańsk.
