Biography:

Zysla Szpejter, née Wajser (1909-1985), born in Zamość, dressmaker, communist movement activist before and after World War II, participant in the resistance movement in France, author of Tout voir et ne rien oublier - Le témoignage retrouvé d'une résistante juive à Auschwitz (édition établie par Dimitri Manessis, Éditions du Rocher, 2023).

In 1932, she arrived in France. In 1935, she married Jakub Szpejter. From this marriage she had a daughter Denise (born 1937, surname after her husband Sevastos) and a son Michel (1946-2007).

Before the war, she lived in Paris at 10 rue des Gravilliers. On 29 January 1943, she was imprisoned in the Drancy camp and deported to the German concentration camp at Auschwitz on 12 February 1943.

She died by suicide on 31 October 1985.
