Cemetery in Dąbrowica

In the northern part of the town of Dąbrowica on the Horyń River, on the right side of the road to Wysock, lies the municipal cemetery. According to Zygmunt Hauser, it is active and fairly well maintained. However, it does not have many Polish graves, only 9, as Poles were a minority in this area. The oldest gravestone is a stone monument erected to Zofia Brabanowa who died in 1903. A "Podolski" cross from 1821 has been preserved in the cemetery, unfortunately with the shoulders lost and without inscription. There are no tombstones of greater artistic value, but a valuable object is the burial chapel of Counts Broel-Plater, founded in 1767. In the parish church, located a few hundred metres away, there is an epitaph of Count Wiktor Broel-Plater, owner of the Dąbrowica and Pulmo estates, who died in 1911. Another epitaph has been painted over with lime. It is likely that there were more Plater epitaphs in the church.
