Biography:

Jerzy Ivanovsky (1878-1965) graduated from the St Petersburg Institute of Technology, already a member of the PPS at the time. He was active in its ranks, for which he was expelled from the university. After graduating from it, he became an activist in Częstochowa, the Zagłębie Dąbrowskie district and the Warsaw Wola district. In 1918, he became Minister of Industry and Trade. He then served for a year (in 1919) as Minister of Labour Protection and Welfare. In 1920, he took part in the Polish-Soviet War. During the Second World War he fought in the Polish Armed Forces. He later emigrated to the United Kingdom.
