The development of the European Court of Justice by Bohdan Paczowski with his team took place between 1985 and 1996. Other team members are: Jean Herr, Gilbert Huyberechts, Isabelle Van Driessche. The building is located in Luxembourg. The extension consisted of the addition of three additional buildings: the Erasmus building, the Thomas More building and the Themis building. The Erasmus building was constructed between 1986 and 1989, the Thomas More building between 1989 and 1992, and the Themis building was the last to be built between 1992 and 1993. The Erasmus and Thomas More buildings are named after philosophers and scholars of the Renaissance: Erasmus of Rotterdam and Sir Thomas More respectively. The Themis building is named after the ancient Greek goddess of justice. All are made of pink granite.
