Variants of the name:
Casa de Gobierno w Limie

The building was erected by Francisco Pizarro between 1535 and 1536 and has been rebuilt several times. It owes its present neo-Platero shape mainly to 20th-century transformations. In 1917, the architects Enrique Bianchi and Ryszard da Jaxa Malachowski and Claudio Sahut worked on the reconstruction. From 1922, at the personal request of President Augusto Leguia, Malachowski himself took charge of the project. In the main façade, he reduced the columns at the entrance door, widening it and inserting a portico. He covered the main hall with a glass dome with stained-glass windows. Additional decorations were given in 1926 and 1938.
