On the south side of the School IV building, just a stone's throw from the century-old North Station, a monument to the Polish general Count Marian von Langiewicz, who became an honorary citizen of Grenchen in 1863, has stood for 50 years. The creator of the monument is the Polish artist Zygmunt Stankiewicz. Colonel Wieczorkiewicz and Colonel Karolus gave solemn speeches during the presentation of the monument to the town of Grenchen and its population.
