Biography:

Zenon Brzozowski (1806-1887), born in Sokolówka, son of Karol Brzozowski and Ksawera Trzecieska. Graduated from the Krzemieniec Lyceum. Together with Juliusz Słowacki, he travelled to the Middle East in 1837. In 1841, he married Elżbieta Zamoyska. The couple had three sons. They were landowners in Podolia. Their property also included a palace in Warsaw and a neo-Gothic palace in Odessa. After the signing of the peace treaty between Poland, Russia and Ukraine (the Treaty of Riga), they retained land in Podolia. Brzozowski hosted many eminent personalities at the Odessa palace, including Juliusz Słowacki. Brzozowski served as Polish consul in Odessa for several years.
