Information about the object:
The "Side Altar of the Transfiguration of Christ" was created in the second half of the 18th century as a unified equipment of the temple together with the main altar and the altar of the Holy Trinity. The author of all three altars was Piotr Polejowski, a supposed pupil of Jan Jerzy Pinzel.

Completed works:
The task is a continuation of the restoration work started on the Transfiguration side altar on the right side of the presbytery, undertaken in 2022. To date, the wooden parts of the altar have been dismantled, cleaned and structurally pre-strengthened, and secondary layers of paint and glazing have been removed.

In 2023, the work will cover the upper part of the altarpiece, including the cornice. The work will include cleaning the elements and completing the structural strengthening, gluing cracks and replenishing lost wood, reconstructing missing elements, replenishing lost mortar, pulments and gilding, and integrating the aesthetic surface. Once the work is completed, the movable elements will be placed back in the altarpiece.
