Biography:

Władysław Szerner (1836-1915) - Polish painter, representative of the so-called Munich School. In 1865 he began his studies in painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. A close friend of the Polish painter Jozef Brandt, he shared a studio with him at Schwanthalerstraße 19 from 1875. Szerner created mainly battle paintings. His art betrayed the influence of Brandt's work.
