Biography:

Franciszek Karpiński (1741-1825), born in Hołoskovo, son of Andrzej. He studied philosophy at the University of Lviv. He then spent a year and a half studying in Vienna. At the age of 40 he published his first volume of poetry. He took care of the Czartoryski library. Between 1785 and 1818, he stayed at the Branicki court in Białystok. In 1818, he purchased Chorowszczyzna - a village in Ukraine, where he spent the rest of his life.
