Hotel Piast in Český Těšín

Hotel Piast in Český Těšín was opened on 19 December 1931. It was designed by the architect Edward David. The building's characteristic elements are fluted pilasters, connected by balconies. The building housed Polish associations and institutions, as well as a restaurant, a café and the Polonia Hotel.

During the German occupation during World War II, the hotel changed its name to "Hotel Germania". In 1945, there was another name change to "Hotel Slavie". Finally, after the Polish associations recovered the building through a Czech-Polish agreement in 1947, the hotel took its modern name "Hotel Piast".

From 1946 to 1961, the building also housed the Těšín Theatre.
