Chapel of Our Lady of Lychakiv in Lviv

The first mention of the Chapel of Our Lady of Lychakiv in Lviv dates from 1850. Construction of the brick chapel began a few years later, and it was demolished and replaced by a new one in neo-Baroque style in the early 20th century. It housed a crowned statue of the Immaculate Conception Virgin Mary.

On the night of 27-28 August 1959, the chapel was razed to the ground by militia and KGB troops.

The chapel was rebuilt in 1995-1998.
