In the Estonian town of Valga, a plaque commemorating Stefan Batory was unveiled on 15 June 2002 in three languages: Polish, Estonian and Hungarian. The plaque was funded by the Council for the Protection of Struggle and Martyrdom Remembrance.

The plaque features a bas-relief of Batory's profile and an inscription:

"In tribute to Stefan Batory, King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania and Duke of Transylvania, who granted Valga town rights in 1584".
