In the building of the Polish Library in Paris, there is a sculpture entitled. "Mickiewicz", by Bolesław Biegas. It is probably a bozzetto of a bronze sculpture made in the same year (1905). The work belonged to a series devoted to artists whom Bolesław Biegas considered eminent, such as the composers Wagner, Chopin and Bach, and the poets Mickiewicz, Słowacki, Krasiński and Baudelaire. The sculpture Mickiewicz is an example of an interesting and non-standard representation of the national bard at the time the work was created. Biegas placed Mickiewicz in a very dynamic scene in which the poet emerges from an agitated wave.
