The former Lanckoroński Palace was built in 1898 by Zbigniew Lanckoroński, on the foundations of the 17th century Potocki castle. The palace, in the style of French neo-Baroque, was modelled on the Casino de Paris in Monte Carlo. During World War I, troops quartered in the palace destroyed or looted some of the furnishings; the rest was lost in 1939. After the Second World War, the Soviet authorities organised a primary and secondary school in the palace. In the early 1990s a new school was built in the palace garden. The abandoned palace was set on fire by "unknown perpetrators" in 1994.
