Variants of the name:
Witraż „Sleeping Child” na podstawie rysunku Stanisława Wyspiańskiego w siedzibie ONZ w Nowym Jorku

The United Nations headquarters in New York features a stained glass window based on the drawing 'Śpiący Staś' by Stanisław Wyspiański. The work was donated to the United Nations in 1979 on the occasion of International Children's Day. The work was created by a group of Polish artists led by Jozef Olszewski, a highly regarded stained glass artist. Halina Cieslinska-Brzeska adapted Wyspianski's drawing to create the design. In the stained glass, the sleeping boy is surrounded by flowers, and in the background the Warsaw Old Town with its castle and the Zygmunt column can be seen. The wooden frame was made by Zygmunt Dzierla.

The Polonica Institute does not currently hold the reproduction rights to the photograph of the object - we invite you to view its photograph available online at https://www.un.org/ungifts/sleeping-child .
