Mass grave with the remains of Prince Jozef Jan Giedroyc in the Montmartre cemetery in Paris

In the Montmartre necropolis in Paris, adjacent to the collective tomb of the Polish Democratic Society, there is a mass burial place with the remains of the Duke, officer and Knight of the Military Cross Józef Giedroyc (Giedroyc) (1808-1849). The rectangular-shaped tomb is marked by an obelisk on a pedestal with profiled lower edges, placed at the head of the breadth of the slab. The obelisk is crowned with a Latin cross situated on a three-tier pyramidion. The two front walls are decorated with engraved inscriptions with the names of the deceased and a concave relief of the Pogoń coat of arms, surrounded by laurel wreaths.
