Walenty Jakóbiak vel Jakubiak born in 1864 in the village of Dreglin, son of Józef and Helena, sculptor, framer and gilder, member of the Corporation of Lviv Gilders. He learned the profession of sculptor, framer and gilder in the workshops of Jan Szczepan Druchliński and Stanisław Wysocki in Warsaw. He had foreign apprenticeships in Paris, Naples, Rome and Vienna. After returning to Poland, he opened his own studio in Lviv. Jakóbiak's studio performed gilding and conservation of altars, organ prospectuses and sculptures in many temples of the former Lviv Province.
