Ottonn Hedemann (1887-1937), born near Minsk, son of Magnus Jan Hedemann, a Dane, and Jadwiga (née Andrzejewska), a Pole. He graduated in humanities from the University of Kiev. After the end of the First World War, he settled in Poland. At that time, he worked as a teacher. One of his places of employment was the secondary school in Braslaw, where he taught from 1922. He wrote several works on the regional history of Poland. He conducted archival research on the Białowieża Forest, the results of which were published in the form of scientific articles in the monthly magazine "Echa Leśne".
