Variants of the name:
Tombeau de la violoniste Ginette Neveu par Alina Szapocznikow, Paris

Tombstone of the violinist Ginette Neveu (1919-1949), tragically deceased in an airplane accident in the Azores, winner of, among others, the Grand Prix of the Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition at the age of 15, made by Alina Szapocznikow in 1950, in the early period of her work. The realisation of the sculpture was commissioned by Air France Airlines, which owned the plane on board which the thirty-year-old violinist died along with 47 other people. The circular medallion with the profile portrait in its present bronze version dates, according to Andrzej Pieńkos, from 1969; originally the stele contained a stone medallion.
