The mass graves of Poles and Jews who were murdered during World War II are located in the forest, about 1 km from the village of Berezwecz. A footpath leads to the mass grave commemorating the executed Poles. As described by the authors, " in the plot on a concrete rectangular base stands a large cross of black granite with an image of the Virgin Mary of the Dawn Gate engraved in the intersection of the arms. On the sides of the cross lie two rectangular slabs of black granite. On their slanted upper surfaces are carved inscriptions with the names of the murdered". The right-hand slab bears the inscriptions: "Priests executed on 4 March 1942: / Blessed Mieczysław BOHATKIEWICZ / Blessed Władysław MAĆKOWIAK / Blessed Stanisław PYRTEK / Beatified on 13 June 1999 by Pope John Paul II. / ... God, You called priests Mieczysław, Stanisław and Władysław to preach the Gospel to which they remained faithful until their martyrdom". On the left panel, on the other hand, we can read: "Executed on 4 July 1942: /BOJARSKI / Irena BRZOSTOWSKA / Ireneusz DOBOSZYNSKI / Romuald DRONICZ / Kazimierz ERDMAN / Edmund KLUCZYNSKI / Kazimierz KRASOWSKI / Rev. Bolesław MACIEJEWSKI / Rev. Adam MASIULANIS / Jadwiga MIKULSKA / Karol MIKUL-SKI / Wanda PILSUDSKA / J6zef PONIATOWSKI / Rev. Antoni SKORKO / Stanisław SOROKO / Władysław WIECZOREK / Adam WISNIEWSKI/¡ INNI NN"/. A short distance from the grave of the Poles, about 30 metres into the forest, there is a grave field of about 450 m2, which is the burial place of 2500 murdered Jews.
