Biography:

Michał Innocenty Burhardt (1838-1908), born in Lithuania, son of Baron Józef-Kazimierz Burhardt and Emilia, née Tutakowska, doctor, participant in the January Uprising, graduated in medicine from the University of Dorpat, during the uprising in 1863. During the January Uprising in 1863, he smuggled weapons out of Prussia for the insurgents, exiled, deprived of the right to practise his profession, worked as a drawing teacher, watchmaker and shoemaker, in 1869 regained the right to practise medicine, Vilnius city councillor, emergency physician in Vilnius (from 1905).
