Aleksander Karnicki (1872-1935), born in Molodecz district, son of Edward Karnicki and Eugenia née Micevich, graduate of the Military and Medical Academy in St. Petersburg, specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology, professor of gynaecology and head of the Empress Mary's Obstetric Institution in St. Petersburg, initiator and director of the State School of Midwives in Vilnius, organiser, founder and president of the Vilnius Gynaecological Society.
