Aleksander Mroczkowski (1850-1927) painter . From 1865 to 1873 he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow in the atelier of Władysław Łuszczkiewicz, Feliks Szynalewski and Leon Dembowski. He continued his education at the Munich Academy (1873-1877). After returning to Krakow, he studied under Jan Matejko, and then left again for Munich, where he stayed until 1888. He created mainly realistic landscapes, portraits, genre scenes and historical compositions. He also produced religious paintings and did decorative painting.
