Biography:

Aleksandra Mir, born in 1967 in Lubin, is a contemporary artist of Polish origin. Her work combines art, science and cultural history; she draws on, amongst other things, archival research and anthropological methods to create drawings, collages, performances and public projects.

She was born in Poland but emigrated as a child and was brought up in Sweden; she holds Swedish and American citizenship. Her works have been shown at major international exhibitions, including the Venice Biennale and the Whitney Museum in New York, and are also held in the collections of institutions such as the Tate and the Guggenheim.
