He built around 100 religious buildings, mainly churches, and made it his mission to spread the Roman Catholic faith in this way. He also designed residential buildings and public facilities. Wawrzyniec Dayczak was a representative of the Lviv school of architecture, whose completed projects can still be admired today.

Wawrzyniec Dayczak ( 1882–1968) was a Polish architect , born in Reniów , who carried out numerous projects, including many in what is now Ukraine. He attended secondary school in Brody and, in 1914, graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at Lviv Polytechnic. As a student, he founded the Bartosz Teams, the first association of rural youth with a pro-independence ethos.

After completing his education, Dayczak joined the Austrian army, and subsequently, between 1918 and 1919, he defended the Galician capital. He was also a representative of the Polish Military Cadres and took part in the activities of the Intelligence Unit of the Lviv Defence High Command .

Wawrzyniec Dayczak was undoubtedly one of the most outstanding architects of his time. His specialisation lay in religious buildings. Whilst still a student, he designed the Church of Our Lady, Queen of Poland, in his home town of Reniów. He was also the designer of the altar in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ternopil (the building no longer exists).

Dayczak also carried out the design of the Chapel-Mausoleum in Zborów , which pays tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives during the First World War, the Polish–Bolshevik War and the Polish–Ukrainian War. He also worked on the extension of the spa in Morszyn and was involved in conservation and renovation projects for tenement houses in Lviv (such as Królewska and Czarna).

After the war, the architect moved to Jarosław , where he ran the ‘Miastoprojekt’ studio and taught younger generations about architecture and construction at the State School of Civil Engineering.
