Biography:

Artur Dobiecki (1884-1948), born in Cianowice Duży, son of Bronisław Dobiecki and Maria von Graeve, landowner, economist and politician, MP and senator. He was married to Pia Lasocka (b. 1902), daughter of Władysław Lasocki and Maria Woroniecka, with whom he had a son, Eustachy. In 1934, he was accused of acting to the detriment of the state for helping the French owner of Zakłady Żyrardowskie (the so-called Żyrardów affair). During World War II, he supplied and hosted partisans at his estate and also supported the Jewish population. In 1945, he left the country, joined General Stanisław Maczek's 1st Armoured Division, after which he was dismissed from service and settled in Paris. He died at his residence at 23 rue Galilée, and was buried on 2 August 1948 in concession no. 12517/191-1821 (annual no. 1071) (AdP AD Paris 16e no. 1491 of 1948) (https://pl.wikipedia.org/, https://bs.sejm.gov.pl/).
