Artur Jan Marczewski (1896-1945), born in Lodz, footballer.

He went down in the history of Polish football as a participant in the first official match of the Polish national team. On 18 December 1921, the red-and-whites faced Hungary in Budapest, losing 0:1. At the time, Marczewski represented the colours of Polonia Warsaw, where he played in the years 1919-1923. He ended his career in 1927.

After playing on the pitch, he devoted himself to his work as a league referee, holding this position for many years. During the Second World War, he worked as a factory administrator under a German owner. His fate after the entry of the Red Army remains unknown.
