Biography:

Bolesław Jan Czedekowski (1885-1969), born in Wojniłów, painter. He studied painting in Vienna, where he was considered one of the best students of the Academy of Fine Arts. After the First World War he settled in France and then in Austria.

In the interwar period, he gained international recognition as a portraitist of the elite - he painted, among others, President Ignacy Mościcki. After the Second World War he stayed in the USA, later returning to Vienna, where he died. His works were inspired by classical European painting. The largest collection of his works in Poland is held by the Łańcut Castle.
