The PLATO Art Gallery is located in Ostrava. The building is a reconstructed 19th century slaughterhouse. The project was designed by Robert Konieczny, Dorota Skóra and Michał Lisiński of the Katowice-based studio KKW Promes. Work began in 2020. Their result is a multi-award-winning building, which won, among others, the top prize in the leading Czech architectural competition "Grand Prix Architektů". The building combines ancient and contemporary building elements, keeping alive the memory of the city's industrial character.
