Sub-camp No. 4 of the NKVD-MVD Gulag No. 41 (later transformed into sub-camp No. 2 of the Kalinin District MVD Board) was established in 1943. Initially it housed German prisoners of war, and from 1944 also interned soldiers of the Home Army (in January 1947 there were 1205 prisoners of war there).

The camp cemetery was established on 18.03.1943 and operated until 22.09.1949, when it was closed down with the disbandment of the sub-camp and transferred to the further supervision of the local authorities.

An on-site inspection of this cemetery was carried out in 1955 and 1958, finding it in poor condition. No information is available on the further fate of the site.

A total of 138 people are buried here, including 70 Germans, 56 Poles, 4 Latvians, 4 Belarusians, 3 Austrians and 1 Czech.

The cemetery is located approximately 6 km from Ostashkov and 300 m from the tanning plant located on the Yuzhnyy estate. It occupies an area of 20 x 38 m and is divided into 6 plots with 25 graves each.
