Boruny cemetery

The Catholic cemetery was established in the early 20th century. It is located approximately 400 m from the Church of Sts Peter and Paul and borders the World War I war cemetery to the west. The rectangular-plan establishment occupies an area of 2 ha and is fenced with a wooden fence on three sides (north, east and west) and on one side (south) with a stone post fence - where the entrance gate to the cemeteries is located. The most numerous group of gravestones are contemporary. The oldest surviving gravestone is a granite vertical slab with a cast iron cross, of Konstancja Bobrownicka from 1920: THE LATE CONSTANCJA BOBROWNICKA / DIED. 22 AUGUST 1920 / LIVED 72 YEARS / RUDKOWSKIS/.
A nearby World War I war cemetery borders the Catholic cemetery to the east. It is a small square-plan layout, covering about 0.4h, surrounded by an earth embankment. A path runs through the centre of the cemetery, dividing the site into two parts (one with 19 rows of 7 graves, the other with 18 rows of 8 graves). The gravestones in this cemetery are in the form of concrete crosses with names. In the middle of the cemetery there is an inscription plate (placed in the 1990s when the cemetery was cleaned up) which reads: "HIER RUHEN SOLDATEN / OPFER DES ERSTEN / WELTKRIGES / ZDES POKOJATSJA SOŁDATY - ZERTWY PÉRWOJ MIROWOJ WOJNY". According to records, approximately 500 German soldiers killed in the First World War are buried in the cemetery.
Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
