Cemetery in Gudogajy

The active Catholic cemetery is located approximately 500m east of the village boundary. The time of establishment of the cemetery is unknown, the oldest gravestones dating back to the 1870s. The rectangular-plan cemetery, located on slightly rising ground, covers an area of 0.6 ha and is surrounded by village buildings and fields to the east. An irregular path runs through the cemetery. The cemetery is in good condition. Graves from the 1st half of the 20th century predominate. A process of eradication of old burials in favour of new ones can be seen. The oldest, fully preserved tombstone of Helena of Dokurn Wojnuszowa dates from 1874 and is situated at the edge of the cemetery. It has the form of a split granite boulder with an inscription. The following inscription has been preserved on the grave: / Ś. P. HELENA Z DOKURNÓW/ WOJNIUSZOWA/ ŻYŁA LAT 35 ZDARŁA 1874 R./ STY. 8 D./. The most common names on the graves are: Nahorny, Bublewicz, Zieniewicz, Kacinek and Romeyko.
. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
