Horodniki cemetery

An active Catholic cemetery (originally a church cemetery) established in the first half of the 19th century, it is located on the southern edge of the village. The rectangular-plan cemetery, located on a flat terrain, covers an area of 0.21 ha and is fenced with a stone wall and a wooden fence. At the beginning of the 20th century the cemetery was extended to the north. It is dominated by gravestones from the 1st half of the 20th century. The oldest preserved tombstone is a marble cippus, belonging to an eminent scholar Jędrzej Mikułowski and his wife Konstancja née Mikułowska. The tombstone was founded by their son in 1839. The following inscription has been preserved on the tomb: / JEDRZEJ SNIADECKI / URO. 30 = LISTO. 1768 = / ZM. 22 KWJET. 1838= / side: TO THE ETERNAL MEMORY / OF DEAR FAMILY / THE APPRECIATED SON / WON THIS MONUMENT/ R=u 1839 go/ back: KONSTANCJA Z MIKULOWSKICH / SNIADECKA/ + 2=o WRZES. 1830=o/..
