Cemetery in Iszczolno

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Lewkowski and Walczak, "the church cemetery in Iszczolno is located in the centre of the village, surrounded by buildings. The square around the church has the shape of an irregular hexagon, is fenced with a plaster wall, covered with tiles, with an entrance from the east. It covers an area of 0.3 hectares. Next to the wall, on the north-west side, there is a detached brick bell tower. The central part of the square is occupied by the Holy Trinity Church, a late Baroque church built in 1758 (...) Seven tombstones have been preserved in the cemetery, most of which are located in the southern part of the church square. (...) In the south-eastern part of the cemetery there is a sundial situated in the form of a cylinder made of granite, on top of which a copper clock face is placed. The dial is signed: "J. Malecki Opticen A 'Wilna". The tree stand is next to the wall - linden, elm. Good state of preservation." The oldest gravestone crowns the burial place of Rafał of Konopnica Grabowski (d. 1857). The inscription: "Here rests Ś. P. RAFAŁ Z KONOPNICY / GRABOWSKI / PODKOMORZY PTU PRUŻAŃSKIEGO / URODZIŁ SIĘ R. 1778 STYCZNIA 23 D. / DIED 1857 NOVEMBER 19 D. / PEACE TO HIS SOUL".
