Cemetery in Iszczolno

Church cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Documentation has been made for the cemetery (6 cards stored in the IPSC). The already mentioned authors also write about the second cemetery in Iszczolno. "The Catholic cemetery in Iszczolno is located in the forest, by the local road, 600 m north-west of the church and the village centre. It is established on a flat area, rectangular in plan, with two paths running east-west, dividing the cemetery into three parts of different sizes. It is fenced with a stone wall, with an entrance on the eastern side. It covers an area of 1.4 ha. The cemetery was established in the mid-19th century and served as a parish cemetery. The oldest gravestones are located in the central part of the cemetery. (...) There is a significant predominance of contemporary burials in the cemetery as well as tombstones dating from the 1st half of the 20th century. Names recur in the inscriptions: Nesterowicz, Nasterowicz, Hryniewicz. The area of the cemetery overgrown with pine forest. The condition of the cemetery is good." The oldest gravestone commemorates Cecylia Rymkiewiczowa, née Biedrzyńska. It is a sandstone pedestal in the shape of a cuboid with an openwork, wrought-iron, trilobed cross. The inscription on the plaque on the pedestal reads: "Here rests the late CECYLIA Z BIEDRZYŃSKICH / RYMKIEWICZOWA / DIED 19 JANUARY 1868 / AT THE AGE OF 46 / Eternal Rest May she rest in peace". Noteworthy is also the inscription: "KS. BOLESŁAW KRASODOMSKI / FOR 50 YEARS / PARISH PRIEST IN ISZCZOŁNA / D. 4 I 1967 AT THE AGE OF 85 / PEACE TO HIS SOUL".
