Cemetery in Kaczanowice

Catholic cemetery with Polish grave monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Lewkowski and Walczak, the cemetery has "boundaries that are difficult to determine, from the extent of the pchukes we can assume that it is an area of about 0.4 ha. The largest number of gravestones is located on the cul-de-sac of the area. The cemetery was created after the middle of the 19th century. Gravestones from the last quarter of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century predominate here, in the form of small horizontal and vertical gravestones or granite boulders." The oldest gravestone, from 1874, commemorates Znna née Żyburtowicz Łozowska and has the form of a granite boulder with the inscription: "HERE RESTS / ANNA / Z ŻYBURTOWICZÓW / LOZOWSKA / SHE LIVED 10 YEARS / DIED. 26 DECEMBER / 1874. / ASKS FOR AN ANGEL / GREETING". Another noteworthy inscription reads: "TU ROCZPENIE / MY REST FOR EVERY EVERY EVERY YEAR / TU ZPOCZYWSKI / INACY KRASZEWSKI / LIVED 47 YEARS DIED / W ROKU 1889 APRELE / 15 DAYS. ASKS OTROJE / ANGELIC GREETINGS".
