Cemetery in Kluszczany

An active Catholic cemetery established around the mid-19th century is located about 200 m south of the church. The cemetery is rectangular in plan with a broken side to the west, situated on a slight hill. It covers an area of 0.7 hectares and is enclosed by a stone wall. The entrance gate is located on the western side. Two paths running through the cemetery divide the site into four parts of different sizes. On the western side it is adjacent to the new cemetery. The oldest gravestones are located in the north-western part of the establishment. The oldest grave, belonging to Tadeusz and Waleria Kuczewski, dates from 1856. It has the form of a granite boulder with a truncated top topped with a crucifix. The inscription on the oval plaque reads: / Ś. P. IGANCY KUCZEWSKI/ UM. 5 FEBRUARY 1904/ AGED 58/. Below the plaque, on the cross, is the signature of the foundry "Vishnev".
Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
