Cemetery in Koldychev

Catholic cemetery with Polish grave monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Lewkowski and Walczak, the cemetery has a rectangular plan and an area of approximately 800 m². It was created in the first half of the 19th century. The oldest gravestone commemorates Józef Filipowicz. It has the form of an imposing brick obelisk. The inscription reads: "JÓZEFOWI / FILIPOWICZOWI / WUJOWI / DOBRODZIEJOWI / POMNIK". According to the aforementioned researchers, "the Filipowiczs were the owners of Koldychev until the mid-19th century." They also report that "several dozen unstyled tombstones mostly from the 1st half of the 20th century have been preserved in the cemetery."
