Cemetery in Krystynopol (Czerwonogród)

Located in the northern part of the former town (now in the middle of the town of Chervonogród), the Catholic cemetery has no fixed date of foundation. The oldest surviving inscription indicates the year 1888, but according to Hauser this is not sufficient information, as there must have been many more gravestones in the main cemetery of the town. According to the Eye Genealogy website, the oldest surviving inscription refers to Adolph Aichhorn (died 1832), and the cemetery is almost 150 years old. The oldest building, however, is the ruined chapel of the Potocki family, located on a knoll. According to Genealogy Okiem, it belongs to the Wiszniowski family. This cemetery is vestigial, long out of use and badly devastated. Only a few tombstones with inscriptions have survived. Moreover, the necropolis is in danger of disappearing completely, due to its presence at the back of housing estates.

Documentation has been made for the cemetery (1 cemetery card and 49 tombstone cards) stored in the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Information about the cemetery published (see bibliography).
