Cemetery in Leonpol

An active Catholic-Orthodox cemetery, established at the turn of the second half of the 19th century, is located in the eastern part of the village. The cemetery is square in plan, without internal divisions, and borders buildings to the west. It is located in an undulating area and occupies 1.2 ha. It is surrounded by a wooden fence. The oldest dated gravestone, a cast iron cross on a pedestal, belongs to an unknown family. It has a partially preserved inscription, written in Cyrillic: / GOSPODI! UPAKOI MŁADEN'CEV/ VIACESŁAVA, LEONIDA I ELIZAVIETU/ PAMIAT' RODITELI/ VIRIUKO(...)ICEJ/ DETJAM 1889 G./. The tombstone is dated 1880. The Catholic tombstones date from the interwar period and are located in the central part of the foundation.
Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
