Cemetery in Mokwin

Only a few fragments of stone gravestones have survived from the cemetery in Mokwin. They are located around the Walewski family burial chapel, which was founded in 1750 by the Lubomirski family. It can therefore be assumed that burials were made from the mid-18th century onwards. Zbigniew Hauser reports that the chapel is now heavily devastated. Still visible, however, are facades decorated with pilasters, cornices and niches, topped with triangular pediments with crenellation. The vaulted-arched interiors are in ruins. The state of the chapel in 2021 can be seen in the photo: http:// https://goo.gl/maps/9X5DadDppipaP4My9 .
