Cemetery in Nova Mysa

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Anna Lewkowska, Jacek Lewkowski and Wojciech Walczak, "the churchyard has a rectangular plan, is fenced with a wall and occupies an area of 0.25 ha. In the western corner of the church cemetery two tombstones of priests, pastors of the local parish, have been preserved: Antoni Trumpel (died 1919) and Antoni Kalenkiewicz (died 1925). The tombstones have a similar form of a pedestal on which a book lies unfolded. In the front façade of the church, to the right of the entrance, there is an epitaph plaque of the Pozowski spouses, Barbara (d. 1810) and Tadeusz (d. 1812). By the church wall, on the south-west side, old linden trees grow."
According to the aforementioned authors, the active Catholic cemetery is rectangular in plan, 2.5 hectares in area and fenced with a metal and wooden fence. It was established in the 1st half of the 19th century and features a wooden cemetery chapel. Following the aforementioned researchers: "the cemetery is dominated by burials from the 1st half of the 20th century, but there are also several dozen gravestones from the 2nd half of the 19th century preserved in the form of granite and cast iron slabs, cast iron openwork crosses on pedestals, obelisks and columns." The oldest gravestone, dating from 1842, commemorates Jozef Tsitovich. The inscription from it reads: "HOUSE / OF ETERNITY / OF HOLY MEMORY / JÓZEF CYTOWICZ / JUDGE OF THE PTTU / NOWGRODZKIE / WHO LIVED 78 YEARS / AND DIED IN THE YEAR 1842 / JANUARY 26 DAY / AND PROSECTS AN ANGELIC HEALING". The cemetery is preserved in good condition.
