Cemetery in Nurwiańce

The active Catholic cemetery (former cemetery of the noble area), established in the mid-19th century, is on the eastern edge of the village. The cemetery has a trapezoidal ground plan and is located on a flat area. It is fenced with a grid, with a gate on the eastern side. It is not divided into alleys and plots. A path leads to the cemetery chapel, which functions as a church. The chapel dates from the mid-19th century, is of brick, rectangular in plan, is covered by a gabled roof and has recently undergone restoration after a fire. The oldest dated gravestone, a stone pedestal by Jonard Koreywo from 1867, is located at the back of the chapel. The inscription survives: / THE LATE JONARD/ KOREYWO/ BORN. 1794 R../ DIED. 1867 R./. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography).
