Orda cemetery

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery has been published (see bibliography). According to Anna Lewkowska, Jacek Lewkowski and Wojciech Walczak, the active Tatar cemetery is established on a rectangular plan and has an area of 0.6 ha surrounded by an earth embankment. It was established in the 1st half of the 19th century. To quote the aforementioned authors: "several hundred gravestones mainly in the form of boulders and vertical slabs have been preserved on its territory. On the tombstones there are inscriptions in Arabic, Polish and Russian, from the 1st half of the 19th century to the present day." The oldest tombstone that can be read belongs to Edmund Butler. The inscription from it reads: "ETERNAL HOUSE / EDMUND BUTLER / CHOR. (...) CAVALRY W. ROSSY / DIED R. 1831".
