Cemetery in Ozarzyniec

The cemetery in Ozarzyniece lies a few hundred metres from the parish church hidden in dense thickets. According to Zbigniew Hauser it is preserved in a residual state. The author found only four Polish inscriptions on it, nevertheless two of them are on artistically very interesting gravestone monuments.

An imposing monument to Julian Pobóg Górski, who died in 1853. It has the form of a high, cast-iron plinth topped by a fluted column with a wreath and a stone vase on top. The inscription plaque, located on the plinth, bears an inscription in Latin. The second interesting gravestone monument is a richly decorated cast-iron tomb topped with decorative acroterions, tympanums with wreath decoration and an openwork cast-iron arabesque. The tombstone commemorates Jan Radlinski, who died in 1853. Hauser assesses the state of preservation of the monument as very good, but the tombstone has not escaped attempts at looting, as evidenced by the excavation underneath it.

Cemetery with Polish gravestone monuments. Information about the cemetery published (see bibliography).
