Cemetery in Skvira

The Skwyra cemetery lies in the northern part of the town. Polish tombstones are not the only ones in this cemetery, which has an area of about 3.5 hectares. Those with Polish inscriptions were found by Zbigniew Hauser 17. Undoubtedly the most impressive is the gravestone of Emilia Kalinowska, née Potocka Kalinowska (d. 1867), located in the western part of the cemetery. The massive grey marble plinth bearing a comprehensive inscription was erected on a vast slab and surrounded by a fence of interlocking pedestals. According to Zbigniew Hauser, the black marble gravestone of Sylwester Dołowski (d. 1884) is notable for its grandeur. Two tombstones in the form of rocks of local parish priests have been preserved . The remaining tombstones are mainly in the form of rocks or knotted trees. The cemetery is not well cared for, but since Hauser's tenure the fragmented headstones have been put together into a possible whole https://www.google.com/maps/@49.7397821,29.6648277,3a,90y,66.34h,90.41t/data=! 3m8!1e1!3m6!1sAF1QipMHTAL0f33Urki_VpP1cqpkYpP1mFMwiKzeNcuW!2e10!3e11!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipMHTAL0f33Urki_VpP1cqpkYpP1mFMwiKzeNcuW%3Dw203-h100-k-no-pi-0-ya85.042564-ro-0-fo100!7i10240!8i5120?entry=ttu .
